Still life with Cactus
Since my classes and workshops were in- studio and most of my students were accustomed to painting indoors I finally focused on these beautiful subjects as a way to be prepare myself for a subject style I had spent little time on previously. One of the first was the painting above.
I submitted this waterccolor to an American Artist" natonal competition and was pleased to learn that I was was one of 8 finalists for the cover of their famous Watercolor Quarterly. Recently I began a series of small "fruit and vegetable" painting in oils and I found that I really enjoyed doing them. So do my students.
